Running

So here is the deal, I have decided to get my butt in gear and lose the last bit of baby/holiday weight that has taken up residence on my body! I HATE working out but I am just going to have to get over that because my hubby LOVES to work out and has since forever! With his crazy schedule at work, time together is limited so what a better way to hang out than to work out... right?

Step 1. download couch to 5k app for the old iphone
Step 2. ACTUALLY use the app :)
Step 3. be nice to the hubby because his <3 is in the right place
Step 4. have fun and remember that I am doing this for ME!

My goal is to run in a race ( I did NOT say RACE in a race, just run in one)!

The app is great, it talks to you and you can play your favorite music with it and then at the end you can use the journal!

Yesterday was my day 1 and my journal entry looked like this:

Today SUCKED! J thinks he knows everything but ends up just annoying the s*** outta me! I know he is just trying to help but COME ON!  It was really cold and my lungs hurt but I need to continue this and not give up!

So why am I sharing this???  That is a great question, but I don't know if I have an answer. Maybe it will help me to be accountable, maybe it wont! But I cant be the only one out there struggling to get into my pre baby jeans (and I have great pre baby jeans)!!!

Same tune, different song!

I have not been a very good blogger of the past few months! I just get all wrapped up and when I think of something to write about I usually end up forgetting to sit down and do it! Anyway it has been pretty blah around here...

I have been in such a funk lately and I am so ready to move on, but some days it seems so much easier to just stay in my little hole and not come out! I know I really don't have anything to complain about, but this cloud just wont go away! So what is it? Depression? Winter Blues? A funk? Post-partum (I know its been a year but how long can it last)? UGH! It is just so frustrating! This post might make me seem weak or like I am just complaining but I really don't care!

We have had some hard learned life lessons over the past few months and I think that has a lot to do with the way I feel! Sometimes our eyes where bigger than our stomachs and now we are paying for it! We are also having to make some decisions about our future and with all the job uncertainty out there it is a bit daunting! We go back and forth and always end up with, "we are just going to have to wait and see".

I am also trying to forgive without an apology! There are people out there who refuse and expect life to go on, normally, happily as if there has never been any wrong done! I say I don't care or that I am over it but lets be realistic that is a lot easier said than done! I guess this mood I am in has turned me into a bit of a grudge holder and I don't like that one bit!

So, today is the day it changes!!! It is not going to be instant but it is going to change (it has to, I am driving my family nuts). I have to move on, I want to be that laid back, loving, smiley person again! Today is the day I let it go! I say to those that have hurt me, its not okay but I forgive you! I will not let you treat me or my family that way ever again but I forgive you!

It is time for me to move on! So after this post I am going to shake a few things up and make some changes to this blog!

Christmas

Oh my!!! Christmas is right around the corner! Halloween hasn't even come yet and they (stores) are already putting out their Christmas stuff... eggnog, gingerbread latte creamers, lights, cards, and I know the toys are about to come out in mass quantities :-/
It all kinda scares me and makes me realize that I have NO idea what I am getting or doing for my kids/husband/family and friends...
What to do, What to do???
This is sad because usually by now Big and I have all our Christmas shopping done (due to deployments and wanting him to be apart of the decisions) but not one stick of it is done! We have discussed a budget and how we are going to STICK to it this year! So I guess that is a start!!!

What are your plans for Christmas this year? Any special items on the list? What about traditions?

We always love getting live Christmas trees! When I was younger my Mom and Dad always played music to let us know we could come out of our rooms... LOVE me some Manhiem Steamrollers

Finding the PERFECT one...

I am sooo excited! Big told me the other day that he signed us up for the USMC Birthday Ball!!! WAHOOO!

(I am really looking forward to this one because the last two I have been to have been kinda blah! And I dont mean that disrespectfully but my first ever ball was when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with Little and the other one was a bit awkward... See Big just got back from deployment and we just got put back with his battalion so I didn't know anybody!!! I also learned a very VERY important lesson at both of those balls, wear COMFORTABLE shoes and I am going to this year!!! And then I am going to dance with my husband (my feet hurt so bad the last time that I could barely stand)!!! )

Anyway, I cant wait to go dress shopping! I am really looking for something simple and classic! I think that is going to be easier said than done, everything that I have looked at so far is very flashy... lots of sparkle! Not me at all...

Buying a new dress means I really need to get my butt in gear and start my workouts again! I have been such a slacker lately! Time to get back to work, I have a goal but I am not going to share that one yet, soon though!

Not the same

So yesterday (I think it was yesterday) I wrote about our weekend adventure! However, I left one thing out...

I will NEVER be able to look at a Marine Corps Commissary or Exchange the same again, EVER!!! We stayed at the NAS Oceana and it was amazing! Great hotel, close to the beach, and really cool jets flying over all the time! Strange how I find comfort in that sort of stuff now???  Loud jets, artillery, machine gun fire, etc.  Anyway, we had to go pick up a few things at the NEX, and as Little would say "holy moly", it was gigantic with so much to choose from! I didn't even go on the clothing side of the store because I knew I would be crushed... I can never find anything at our exchange! It was kinda like shopping at Macy's after you have shopped at Target!!! Don't get me wrong I LOVE Target but there is a difference!!! And don't even get me started on the commissary! It was TWICE the size of our commissary! I just wanted to keep walking around and around, but Big wouldn't let me! He only has so much patience for shopping :)! I should have never gone in there, then I would have never known a difference even existed!

Oh well!
