Step 1. download couch to 5k app for the old iphone
Step 2. ACTUALLY use the app :)
Step 3. be nice to the hubby because his <3 is in the right place
Step 4. have fun and remember that I am doing this for ME!
My goal is to run in a race ( I did NOT say RACE in a race, just run in one)!
The app is great, it talks to you and you can play your favorite music with it and then at the end you can use the journal!
Yesterday was my day 1 and my journal entry looked like this:
Today SUCKED! J thinks he knows everything but ends up just annoying the s*** outta me! I know he is just trying to help but COME ON! It was really cold and my lungs hurt but I need to continue this and not give up!
So why am I sharing this??? That is a great question, but I don't know if I have an answer. Maybe it will help me to be accountable, maybe it wont! But I cant be the only one out there struggling to get into my pre baby jeans (and I have great pre baby jeans)!!!
Hang in there! It's going to hurt for a while. I remember when I first started working out with the guys. They'd be up front hollering "Come on Weber!" and it made me want to punch them in the face, but I had to catch up to them in order to do that... It'll take about a month to get in the habit of working out, but if you promise yourself to stick with it for a month, next month it'll be a ton easier, and you might even miss it if you skip a day.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that really helps me is having a goal, like running a race, and having friends to do it with, so you motivate each other and hold each other accountable. Then some days, when you're not really into to, all you have to do is show up, and the group will get you through the workout.
Good Luck! Hope to see you guys soon!
My J always said it takes 3 weeks to get into shape (or a new routine) and 1 week to get out. He's right. Hate it when that happens. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI hated hearing "encouragement" from my guy too. They are trying to be helpful--I think it was most helpful to tune them out. You will find your rythym...like you said...you are doing this for you!!
Way to go girl!! Keep it up!! :-)
hugs,
Robin
